The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest Far Cry instalment that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in action and mayhem with equal excitement, all while telling captivating, socially charged stories. No wonder then that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a fresh location and group of personalities in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant trust and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of people through this complex and chaotic perspective, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and present our shared bold, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
