The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.
Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering about PlayStation as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Microsoft remains determined to engage players with compelling titles on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
The duo of games that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — rendering them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
