The Former President's Policies Pose a Risk to Civilized Society.

The national and international initiatives – ranging from the effort to overturn the election five years ago to latest actions and threats – erode not only domestic and international jurisprudence. However, the issue goes deeper.

These actions threaten the fundamental meaning of what we mean by.

A moral purpose of civilized society is to prevent the more powerful from harming and taking advantage of the weaker. Otherwise, we risk being trapped in a conflict of all against all where might makes right could survive.

This principle lies at the center of the Declaration and Constitution. This is also the heart of the modern framework of international relations championed by the America, which stresses international cooperation, democracy, individual liberties, and the rule of law.

But, it is a delicate principle, easily violated by those who choose to misuse their authority. Preserving it requires that the influential have a sense of duty to avoid seeking immediate gains, and that society hold them accountable if they don't.

Unfettered might is not right. It leads to uncertainty, disruption, and conflict.

Every time entities that are wealthier and stronger target and use those that are less so, the structure of our shared norms frays. If these actions are not contained, the fabric unravels. Allowing it to persist, the world can descend into chaos and war. We have seen this pattern previously.

Our current reality is a global community with deepening divides. Political and economic power are held by fewer hands than in modern history. This invites the privileged to take advantage of the weaker because they act with a sense of above the law.

The wealth of a handful of ultra-wealthy individuals is difficult to fathom. The influence of big tech, big oil, and large defense contractors covers numerous countries. Advanced technology is poised to centralize economic and political clout even more. The military might of the major powers is unprecedented in human history.

Supported by a compliant faction and a sympathetic judicial body, the executive office has been turned into the most dominant and unchecked instrument of the state in recent memory.

Combine these factors and you see the looming crisis.

A direct line ties earlier breaches of norms to current menaces. Each were based on the arrogance of omnipotence.

There is a similar pattern in international affairs: in territorial invasions, in strategic threats, and in the rampant monopolization by powerful corporate entities.

Yet, unfettered might does not make right. It fosters instability, upheaval, and war.

History shows that rules and conventions to check the powerful also safeguard them. Without such constraints, their relentless pursuit for greater influence and riches eventually cause their collapse – along with their enterprises, countries, or domains. And risk world war.

Such lawlessness will cast a long shadow over America and the global community – and indeed a rules-based order – for a long time.
