Slot Insists He Feels Secure and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Loss

Arne Slot acknowledged that it was natural for doubts to be asked about his position following another heavy defeat against the Dutch champions.

The Reds endured their ninth loss in 12 matches, marking the club's poorest streak since being demoted in 1953-54.

They were dominated by the Dutch league title holders on a tough evening at their home ground.

“I'm confident, I'm fine, I have got plenty of support from the top,” the coach stated.

“It would be great to change things and earn three points obviously but if you are working as a coach and struggling then it's expected that questions are asked.”

He added, “I'm comfortable with my role. It is not the initial instance I've found myself in a tough spot but it is about time that we changed our fortunes.”

Conversations with The Board

Upon being questioned to expand on his dialogues with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“There's regular dialogue. They are supportive to the team and to me and we have those conversations but they don’t call me every single minute of the day to say they trust me.”

He added, “During our regular conversations we have I sense the belief. However I've not talked to them after this game yet so we'll see.”

Familiar Issues and Squad Reaction

The manager lamented familiar shortcomings from his team in their Champions League loss, namely wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Jones was blunter in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the answers. Frankly, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” Jones remarked.

“It is unacceptable. I don't need to wait to consider it. I’m past being angry internally. I’m at the point now where I simply lack the phrases.”

He went on, “It's difficult because I’m playing for the club I love. I support them, and I've watched this club for years.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team experiencing a period like this with results so bad.”

Jones stated, “However we continue to wear that badge on our chest. And until it is removed, we will always battle.”

“Our aim is to help the side back to the top, show everyone once more what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the top club in the planet.”

“At this moment, we're in trouble and we have to turn it around.”
