Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
